The Technology Assessment and Planning section of the Enterprise Services, Information Systems Department, is primarily responsible for working with the medical center staff and departments to develop and implementing network technology solutions that allow for the integration and management of medical center systems and assets. The main areas of focus include the management of network infrastructure including the development, testing, implementation, and analysis.

The Senior Network Specialist will develop and design the detailed specifications of Network infrastructure and data communications systems and networks to meet the requirements, missions and goals of the medical center. Define system and project scope and objectives by independent research to determine system/technology capabilities; engineer IS solutions to meet customer and facility requirements. Provide technical guidance and expertise pertaining to these systems and technologies to department and medical center management.

Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, 5-7 years of network engineering and design experience with 1-3 years experience in increasingly complex network design and engineering, or an equivalent combination or education and experience.

Extensive working knowledge of networking protocols, transmission media and systems integration techniques.

Knowledge of program logic, analysis and design is also required.
